Healing the Eyes of The World

Healing the Eyes of The World is a film about the remarkable Aravind Eye Hospital, Madurai, India, which revolutionised the treatment of cataracts surgery, evolving and streamlining the method so that they could do thousands of operations a day.  Starting with just 11 beds in 1976, and a dream to cure global blindness, the Aravind hospitals have offered completely free eye care to those who cannot afford it, and they have now treated more than 1.5 million people.
